Introduction
The Landmark December 2010 deadline is less than 12 months away, Estimates from ECHA indicate that 10,000 substances will be included in the first phase of registration. This years’ conference focus is to assess the impact for downstream users on SDS’s and the associated “Exposure Scenarios” that will need to be developed.

Biocides Update – Dr Richard Elsmore |

The Commission has adopted a proposal for a new Regulation that will replace the Biocidal Products Directive (BPD).
The Regulation seeks to improve the functioning of the internal market in biocidal products while maintaining a high level of environmental and human health protection, it is scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2013.
The proposed Regulation includes a number of significant changes to the existing Directive. Richard provides an insight into some of the significant changes.

REACH Revised Annex II – Mr Simon Robinson |

Dec 2010 introduces the most radical change to the SDS since the original mandated 16 Section version introduced with EC Directive 91/155. A new mandated SDS with 63 headings, supporting a dual classification system will now be introduced. The implementation is phased over several years, we take a pragmatic view and outline key compliance dates and exemption provisions.
