Are you ready for impact changes to 2010 deadlines?

Introduction

The Landmark December 2010 deadline is less than 12 months away, Estimates from ECHA indicate that 10,000 substances will be included in the first phase of registration. This years’ conference focus is to assess the impact for downstream users on SDS’s and the associated “Exposure Scenarios” that will need to be developed.

December 2010 is the deadline for
Classification and Labelling (CL) notification
to ECHA.

December 2010 introduces the revised Annex II for REACH and the impacts on Safety Data Sheets, this conference will provide further information pending release of final version.

January 2011 will see changes to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods
 
This conference gives  an overview of the changes affecting general chemical issues with regards to SDS’s  Transport labelling/marking and documentation

 

We are pleased to have secured representation from Health and Safety Executive to speak on the enforcement of CLP in the UK and to provide an overview of the 3rd edition of the Purple Book and how/when these changes will be adopted into CLP.

11.10 am Exposure Scenarios (Annex to SDS) –  Mr Tony Newbold
Dec 2010 will see completed registrations in abundance. The registration process requires the preparation of Chemical Safety Assessments, and, for hazardous substances,  Exposure Scenarios. What is the latest guidance from regulator and industry development groups and how will Generic Exposure Scenarios help make the life of downstream formulators and users that much easier ?

2011 will see revisions to Transport regulations. Desmond provides a perceptive outline of the key changes that may affect us. A review on items we may have missed, and a look on the horizons of new developments in the world of Dangerous Goods.
 
12:00 pm Biocides Update – Dr Richard Elsmore
The Commission has adopted a proposal for a new Regulation that will replace the Biocidal Products Directive (BPD).

The Regulation seeks to improve the functioning of the internal market in biocidal products while maintaining a high level of environmental and human health protection, it is scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2013.

The proposed Regulation includes a number of significant changes to the existing Directive. Richard provides an insight into some of the significant changes.

13.30 pm REACH Revised Annex II – Mr Simon Robinson
Dec 2010 introduces the most radical change to the SDS since the original mandated 16 Section version introduced with EC Directive 91/155. A new mandated SDS with 63 headings, supporting a dual classification system will now be introduced. The implementation is phased over several years, we take a pragmatic view and outline key compliance dates and exemption provisions.
